Riverland Community College’s west building is closed today for water main repair.

Damage was first noticed Monday morning when water was seen pooling in between the college’s east and west buildings near the gymnasium, according to Riverland’s director of communications James Douglass.

All west building classes are canceled until at least 5 p.m. Tuesday. The Austin East Building and the Albert Lea and Owatonna campuses will remain open as scheduled.

“We won’t know how severe it is until they get down there,” Douglass said. “We are hoping to re-open in time for evening classes but we are telling everyone to check our Web site in case this does turn out to be more severe.”

West Building Staff should check with their supervisors to arrange to work at another location.
