There will be food aplenty during this Easter holiday weekend, and you don’t have to look far to find it.
Tonight, the Mapleview Fire Department will have its sixth annual fish fry from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Mapleview Community Center. Tickets are $7.50 at the door. Children ages five to 12 are $3 and those four and under are free.
Sunday is when another eating tradition takes place when Christ Episcopal Church in Austin hosts the third annual Free Community Easter Dinner at 2 p.m.
For those interested in attending, call 433-3745 and leave the number of persons that will be attending.
Numerous local churches will be hosting special performances, choirs and cantatas this weekend. However, the Northwest Church of Christ will play host to the Iowa-based Gateway Singers at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The group will also perform at the church Sunday during the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. worship services.
