Three area softball players were all part of the Eagan 16 and under softball team that lost to Camplin Park 5-3 in the first round of the North American Fastpitch Association Northern Nationals.

Danielle Tschann, who will be a senior at Austin High School this fall, went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in the loss. As a catcher, she threw out three runners stealing at second base.

Jenni Yocom, who will be a junior at Austin, took the loss for Eagan. She went seven innings, allowing 10 hits and two earned runs, while striking out one. Yocom went 1-for-3 at the plate.

Dani Wagner, who will be a sophomore at Hayfield High School this fall, filled on as an injury replacement at shortstop for the team. She went 1-for-2 with a walk.

Eagan led the game 3-1 going into the top of the fifth, where it committed a couple of costly errors.
