Immigrants founded this country, and we shouldn’t let the lack of a certain piece of paper bar from this country people who have been living and working here for years.

Bush sent a letter to congressional leaders last week urging them to give immigrants more time to apply. That’s a good idea, although it’s something Bush should have done sooner.

Extending amnesty to undocumented immigrants helps keep families together and helps keep valued employees at their jobs.

Many people were left out in the rush to apply by midnight April 30. There are plenty of deserving, hard-working people who should be allowed to stay in this country, to which they have already contributed so much.
