Members of the Riverland Community College women’s and men’s tennis teams and head coach Suzy Hebrink, with some help from the Sportts Restaurant in Austin, put on a spaghetti dinner open to the public Wednesday night. The purpose of the dinner was to raise funds to offset travel costs to this year’s National Junior College Athletic Association National Tennis Tournaments. Both teams, advancing to nationals for the second consecutive season, qualified by winning their region tournaments. The women begin postseason play Sunday, May 6, in Tucson, Ariz., while the men go to Tyler, Tex., starting May 15.
