NORTHWOOD, Iowa – A multi-jurisdictional raid closed down a methamphetamine laboratory in northern Iowa last week.
According to the Worth County Sheriff’s Office, seven arrest warrants and two search warrants were served by a multi-jurisdictional task force Friday.
The warrants culminated a year-long investigation coordinated by the Worth County Sheriff’s Office.
The warrants were served in Lake Mills, Joice and Hanlontown, Iowa.
Karl Steven Kessler, 30 of Joice, Iowa, Rachel Mae Young, 25 of Joice, Iowa, Adele Lorraine Hylback, 44 of Lake Mills, Iowa, Brenda Arloween Miller, 41 of Lake Mills, Iowa, Roger Ray Stock, 46 of Lake Mills, Iowa, Darren Richard Shave, 33 of Hanlontown, Iowa, and Mary Louis Smeby, 31 of Hanlontown, Iowa, were all charged with a variety of felony crimes, including conspiracy to manufacture meth, possession of meth, trafficking in stolen weapons and other charges.
Kessler, Young, Hylback, Miller and Stock were also charged with child endangerment.
Agencies assisting the Worth County Sheriff’s Office were Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, Northwood, Forest City and Lake Mills police departments, Iowa State Patrol and ISP Entry Team, Department of Narcotics Enforcement, Joice Fire Department, Lake Mills Ambulance Service and Iowa National Guard.
