The 1997 Austin High School graduate reached that milestone in her 90th college game when she scored 14 points on Saturday, January 27, against Nebraska-Omaha.

Arndtson was three points away from 1,000-point plateau entering Nebraska-Omaha game. She quickly broke the mark :50 into the contest. Arndtson scored on a layup, was fouled and sunk her free throw to complete the three-point play to give UND a 3-0 lead.

Coach Roebuck called a 30-second time-out shortly thereafter to congratulate her. Ironically Arndtson scored her 1,000th collegiate point – Jan. 27,2001 – exactly four years from the day -Jan. 27, 1997 -that she scored her 1000th point at Austin High School. Her 1000th point in high school was also a free throw.

Two years ago as a sophomore, Arndtson suffered a knee injury in UND’s ninth game ending her season. Shortly thereafter she sustained nerve damage in her right arm and shoulder that required rehabilitation.

Arndtson would like nothing more than to be playing for a third national title in March, particularly since this year’s Elite Eight will be played in Rochester. UND is ranked No. 1 in its conference and No. 3 in national polls.
