The Austin Police Department is investigating the report of the theft of items from rooms at the Countryside 3303 West Oakland Ave., Austin.

According to a police report, a 16 year old female attempted to rent a room, but was refused. The juvenile returned with a 25 year old male, who rented the room for the girl.

On Saturday night, a large number of teenagers and young adults visited the room at Countryside Inn of Austin.

When the housekeeping staff investigated Sunday morning, they discovered a microwave oven, television and refrigerator

Tracks in the snow suggested to police guests at one of the rooms, where the party was held, walked outside to an adjoining room, cut the screen and crawled inside and took the items.

Riverside break-in

Austin police officers were called to Riverside Arena Saturday, where an apparent break-in occurred.

Upon investigation, the Austin Police Department investigation determined nothing was missing and that the intruders had used a men’s locker room to lace up skates and take to the ice.

Arena staff confirmed not theft took place, but showed police where a west door had been taped unlocked that may have been used to gain entrance.
