The 29 dogs at the Mower County Humane Society got permanent fencing Tuesday, courtesy of the funds raised in the society’s walkathon. The temporary fencing, put up Kevin Horsman of Horsman Fence of Chatfield after the slab for the run was poured, was replaced by heavy-gauge posts and wire fencing and three pens set up: two bigger pens and a puppy pen. Potential pet owners and volunteers can visit the humane society building at 1010 10th Drive SE at open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays or from 1 to 3 p.m. Sundays.
