Dr. James A. Hess has passed the inspection of the Austin Board of Education.
The school board met with the Austin superintendent of schools Wednesday to conduct its annual evaluation.
According to board Chairman David A. Simonson, "Dr. Hess was given a commendable rating, citing he is a high performer who sets high goals and attains high level of accomplishment."
Special commendation was given for his leadership in the areas of finance and budget, technology, personnel and community relations.
Hess replaced Dr. J. Douglas Myers, who retired after a lengthy career in education. The change-over took place shortly before a major level renewal referendum, which successfully passed voters’ approval.
