Austin High School graduate Mike Cunningham is among eight wrestlers from Minnesota named to the 2000 Amateur Wrestling News All-American team named in the publication’s June-July 2000 issue.

Austin High School graduate Mike Cunningham is among eight wrestlers from Minnesota named to the 2000 Amateur Wrestling News All-American team named in the publication’s June-July 2000 issue.
Cunningham is one of 130 athletes named to the team, 10 at each weight class. Cunningham was the 10th ranked wrestler at 145 pounds. Matt Grice of Hurrah, Okla., was the top ranked wrestler at 145.
Cunningham will wrestle for perennial Division III power Augsburg College in Minneapolis this winter. Augsburg is the defending national champion.
Other Minnesota wrestlers named to the team are: Josh Schermerhorn, Frazee, at 112; Matt Shankey, Apple Valley, 125; Paul Carlson, St. Francis, 152; three wrestlers at 160 – top-ranked Nate Baker of Jackson County, second-ranked Josh McLay of Hastings, and Tyler Marr of Forest Lake; Jordan Holm, Northfield, 189; and Chad Redman, Apple Valley, heavyweight.
