OWATONNA – It looks to be a great field shaping up for this year’s Napa Gopher 50 Charity Late Model Race.
The race takes place July 12 at the Steele County Fairgrounds Speedway in Owatonna along with the Select Motors Modified Race of Champions.
Among the early entries to this years Napa Gopher 50 are four past winners of the event – Steve Kosiski of Omaha, Neb., Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., Rick Aukland of Fargo, N.D., and Rick Egersdorf of Mendota Heights.
The event is again promoted by the Blooming Prairie Jaycees with all the net proceeds going to support Jaycees’ projects. The late model portion of the event offers a total purse of more than $62,000, with $12,000 going to the winner of the 50-lap main event.
Invitations have been sent to the 28 modifieds selected by fan voting for the Select Motors Race of Champions.
Sponsors of the event include Napa Auto Parts, Hormel Foods, Corp., Miller Beer, Treasure Island Resort and Casino, Alliance Bank, Select Motors, Pepsi, KOWZ and Featherlite Trailers.
