Kim White of Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo spoke with sixth-graders at Ellis Middle School on Tuesday and discussed animals that are endangered because of illegal poaching. White, an aunt of one of the students, brought various items confiscated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, as they were brought into the country. During her talk, White displayed the actual skin from a python, not the part that is shed, but the snake’s skin.
