Doc Gerstner of Austin fills up his tank at the Citgo station on 10th Place NE Thursday. Gerstner said that while the government says it can’t do anything about the rising gas prices, federal and state gas taxes are high. "Why can’t they give us a break on that (high taxes) to help lower the prices?" he asked. Gerstner said, however, that Americans have it relatively easy. "We’re really skating compared to Europe and other parts of the world. In England, gas is $4 per liter."
