Alumni update: Leichtnam off to a solid start

FOOTBALL
Grand Meadow grad Caleb Leichtnam is off to a dynamite start with his college football career at Rochester Community and Technical college as he leads the NJCAA with eight interceptions after three games.
Leichtnam has returned those picks for a total of 136 yards for the Yellowjackets (3-0 overall).
After his first game, Leichtnam was named NJCAA player of the week when he picked off three passes and ran one back 68 yards for a score in RCTC’s 74-0 win over Vermillion Community College.
Blooming Prairie grad Elliot Herdina hauled in three passes for 80 yards as Gustavus lost its season opener to No. 14 Wartburg College 26-21 this past weekend.
GOLF
Austin grad Catherine Wagner was recently named one of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s athletes of the week.
Wagner, a junior golfer for the Blugolds, took second place at the O’Brien National Invitational in Indiana with a score of 152.
She was three strokes behind the winner and was named to the All-Tournament team.
VOLLEYBALL
LeRoy/Ostrander grad Kaylee Bunne is off to a strong start in her sophomore season at St. Mary’s University.
Bunne has 31 kills, 7 blocks and 7 digs for the Cardinals (6-2 overall).
She was tied for second on the team with 10 kills in a 3-2 win over Plymouth State of Massachusets Sept.
