Blooming Prairie (23-4) won the Gopher Conference with a perfect 14-0 conference mark and advanced to the sub-section finals, where the Blossoms finally fell to Hayfield.

But the sweet season is lingering.

Setter Sara Anderson, outside hitter Missy Avery, and middle hitters Ranell Goette and Jana Peterson were named to the All-Gopher Conference team.

That quartet of seniors was joined by seven others in being named to the Academic All-Gopher Conference team.

"We’ve got 16 girls on our team and 11 made it," Worke said. "That makes me so proud. The others just missed. They all carry a B average or above too."

Fellow seniors Jessica Callahan, Janelle Iacovino and Kari Olson, and juniors Amanda Busho, Stephanie Thompson, Megan Ingvalson, Allison Trom and Sami Zwiener were named Academic All-Gopher Conference. Each of the girls maintains a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) or better. Iacovino was named Academic All-State for having a 3.8 GPA.

In addition to all of that good news, Goette has signed a national letter of intent to attend and play volleyball at St. Cloud State University.

Finally, the team voted Anderson its MVP.

"She was the best setter in the conference," Worke said.
