The Austin Daily Herald has won two awards in this year’s Better Newspaper Contest sponsored by the Minnesota Newspaper Association.

Mike Rose won second place for spot news reporting for daily newspapers up to 10,000 circulation, and the Herald newsroom won second place for general reporting.

In this year’s contest, a total of 3,064 entries were received.
