Just two days after the Lyle/Pacelli volleyball team struggled in a three-game sweep to LeRoy/Ostrander, the Athletics bounced back and picked up a four-game win over Hope Lutheran (0-4 overall, 0-4 SEC) by scores of 25-27, 25-19, 25-20, 25-18 in Lyle Thursday.
L/P (2-7 overall, 2-3 SEC) didn’t play its best in the first game, but it got going and closed out the last three games.
“I was proud of how we came back after Tuesday’s match,” L/P head coach Lindsay Leif said. “We wiped the slate clean and revamped. We came with a lot more energy in this match.”
Ann Rysavy served 10 aces and had seven kills for L/P and eighth grader Sarah Holtz put down 10 kills.
“Hope Lutheran coach Ron Prigge told me that was one of the best match they had played all season so both teams played well,” Leif said. “We hustled and played our game instead of adjusting to their game.”
L/P stats: Ann Rysavy, 22-for-24 serving, 10 aces, 18 digs, 7 kills, 23-for-24 on serve receives; Sarah Holtz, 10 kills; Paige Smith, 10 digs; Jennie Marx, 9-for-10 serving, 4 aces; Madison Truckenmiller, 13-for-13 serving, 4 aces; Alena Kritzer, 16 assists
