Lyle/Pacelli jumped out to a 33-0 lead at St. Clair Friday night behind the arm and legs of quarterback Dannny Griebrok, and cruised to an easy 33-22 victory.

Griebrok hooked up with tight end Phil Halbach for a nine-yard pass for a score late in the first quarter.

Greibrok, who was 9 for 16 with 96 yards and two touchdowns as well as one on the ground, also found Jason Helgeson for a 24-yard score in the second quarter.

Halbach, who finished with four catches for 51 yards, also caught a 36-yard TD from none other than Helgeson, who threw his first touchdown on a trick play which worked to perfection.

Helgeson caught three passes for 52 yards.

"We thought we should’ve beaten Medford," L/P coach Mark Bjunte said. "We came out with alot more intensity this game."

Cory Ransom scored L/P’s other touchdown on a 24-yard run. He had 35 yards on three carries.

Josh Kunze led the ground attack with 75 yards on 12 carries. He also caught three passes for 29 yards and added a three-yard completion to his offensive resume.

L/P had 16 first downs and 280 total yards.

Kunze also led L/P with 11 tackles before coming out when the win was well in hand. The L/P defense intercepted three passes and held the Warriors to 258 yards, most of which were gained late in the game. Brian Helle added nine tackles for the victors.

Jared Koopal had two interceptions and Chris Maly made the other interception near teh end of the firts half to set up L/P’s third score.

L/P (1-1) will host Grenada-Huntley-Eastchain-Martin Luther of Friday.
