Loretta Faith King, 93, of Austin, died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at the Adams Health Care Center.
Loretta Faith King, daughter of Delphin and Ethel Dernek was born on Dec. 31, 1916, in Plymouth, Iowa. Loretta married Franklyn King on March 25, 1939, and had one son, Darwyn. Loretta was active in the First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and volunteered for the Austin Red Cross. She and Franklyn loved to square dance, go camping, travel, go on cruises and go boating. She worked at the Hormel Foods and for the Austin Sears & Roebuck store as a credit manager for more than 28 years. After she and Franklyn retired, they wintered in El Val de Sol in Texas. After her husband, Franklyn, died Loretta moved to Ocala, Fla., to live with her son and daughter-in-law. She led a full and exciting life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Franklyn; and her sister, Aurel Swenson.
Loretta is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Darwyn and Jerry Rae King of Ocala, Fla; grandchildren, James Edward King, of Hermantown, Minn., Dr. Nicole Trajano, of Hillsboro, Ore., Staff Sergeant Stephen King, of Clarksville, Ten., Zdanna King of Rochester, Minn.; four great-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew King, of Austin, Elena and Leonardo Trajano, of Hillsboro, Ore.; sister-in-law, Betty Keller, of Austin; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Patricia Toschak officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with a 7 p.m. Eastern Star Service. Visitation will also be for one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to First United Methodist Chruch.
Arrangements are by Clasen-Jordan Mortuary.
