James Nolte

James Irving Nolte, 65, of Dexter, died Sunday, July 4, 2010, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester. 
Jim was born Aug. 23, 1944, in Austin, the son of Irvin and Jeanette (Dickens) Nolte. He grew up on a farm in the Dexter area where he attended Elkton High School, graduating in 1962. He worked at the Dexter Creamery, Dexter Standard and later at Oliver Tractor Corporation in Charles City, Iowa. He met his wife, Linda Lou Renner, after taking a job with the Caterpillar Company in Aurora, Ill. They were married on July 3, 1965, in Aurora, where they made their home for a short time before moving to the Dexter, Minn., area when Jim began working for IBM in Rochester in 1966. He retired in 1996. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Dexter. He enjoyed fishing and thinking about fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Nolte of Dexter; three daughters, Amy (Dave) Sheely of Dexter, Brenda (Al) Mandt of Rose Creek and Nancy (Jim) Hawkinson of Owatonna; seven grandchildren, Heather, Justin and Lindsey Sheely, Marcus and Christopher Mandt and Henry and Charles Hawkinson; three brothers, Jerry Nolte of the Grand Meadow Nursing Home, Jon (Georgie) Nolte of Spring Valley and Steve (Barb) Nolte of Dexter; also many other relatives and friends. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin W. and Jeanette E. (Dickens) Nolte.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 8, 2010, at the United Methodist Church in Dexter with Rev. Karen Ashton officiating.  Interment will follow the service in the Dexter Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
