No one was seriously injured during a small kitchen fire early Saturday at a northwest Austin home.
Firefighters and police responded to 1207 10th St. NW at around 5 a.m. when a resident, 20-year-old Jordan Rouse, called in the incident. The fire, which apparently started on the stove, left an entire wall and the kitchen ceiling blackened, according to a police report.
A dollar estimate of the damage was not listed in the report.
While authorities were at the home, they spoke with Rouse’s father, 55-year-old Daniel Rouse, who also lives at the home. The elder Rouse said his son had left the house after the fire started, and the father wasn’t sure where he went.
The report does state that Jordan Rouse burned his hand attempting to put out the fire, which he thought he had successfully done.
