Lucille Lyle

Lucille Aletta Lyle, 84, of Oakland died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Albert Lea Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 22, 1925 in Albert Lea to Mildred and Diedrick Williamschen. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and became a secretary at the extension office in Albert Lea.
She married William James Lyle on Feb. 27, 1949, and lived on the family farm in Oakland Township for 61 years, the remainder of her life.
One of Lucille’s greatest pleasures was preparing meals for her family, friends, and hired help, many of whom she considered like family. She was a partner in the farming operatio, where she enjoyed working with the hogs, mowing the lawn, and ensuring that the farm looked its best. For the past several years, Lucille enjoyed studying, gathering and compiling information on family history.
Lucille is survived by her husband, William; their children, LuVern (Colleen), Rosalyn, JoAnn (James) Joachim; grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, Nicole, and Mathew; brother, Dean (Jayne) Williamschen; brother-in-law, Harold Neist; and sister-in-law Esther Williamschen.
Lucille was preceded in death by her son, Alan, who passed away July 7, 1985; her parents; sister, Evelyn Neist; brothers, Orville Williamschen, Clayton (Sharon) Williamschen; and a twin brother who died before birth.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Hayward Lutheran Church, Hayward, Minn. Pastor Richard Spande will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, rural Oakland.
The family suggests memorials to St. Jude’s Research, the Salvation Army or a charity
of choice.
