Aardina Draayer

Aardina Draayer, 89, of Albert Lea died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 at Good Samaritan Society.

Aardina Wilhelmina Draayer was born July 26, 1920 to William and Wilhelmina Mulder in Perkins, Iowa. She grew up in Hollandale and attended Albert Lea Schools. On Nov. 11, 1941 Aardina was united in marriage to Chris Draayer in Hollandale. She enjoyed being a housewife, knitting, sewing, embroidering, and baking. Aardina always made homemade popcorn balls for Halloween and had Dutch windmill cookies. She loved spending time with her family and especially spoiling her grandchildren.

Aardina is survived by her sons Arthur (Beverly) Draayer, Phillip (Sue) Draayer, and Duane (Julie) Draayer; grandchildren, Kimberly Draayer, Patrick Draayer, Sarah Draayer, Lindsey Draayer, Todd Draayer, Ryan (Hollie) Draayer, Jennifer (Paul) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Tayylor, Chance and Carter Anderson and Riley Draayer; sister, Alida Kuiper; nieces and nephews, Joanne Seyverson, David Kuiper, and Allan Kuiper.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Chris; and brother, Arthur.

Funeral services for Aardina Wilhelmina Draayer will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009 at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home with the Rev. Kent Otterman will officiating. Interment will be at Hollandale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16th at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service.
