The Austin boys soccer team won its second straight game when it bested Rochester Century (2-8-1 overall, 1-4-1 Big Nine) 4-0 in Rochester Tuesday.
Jake Hagen-Erickson scored on an assist from Nick Brehmer two and a half minutes into the game and he would finish the night with a hat trick as the Packers (5-3-3 overall, 3-1-2 Big Nine) cruised to a win.
“We came out strong and then Century played back a little bit in the second half,” Austin head coach Jens Levisen said.
While he didn’t score a goal, Austin junior Francisco Torres helped create some of Austin’s offense. He had two shots that were deflected by Century’s keeper and then knocked in by an Austin player — one of those scores came from Juan Valladares and the other was from Hagen-Erickson.
J.J. Greene assisted on Hagen-Erickson’s second goal of the night.
Collin Weisert had 12 saves for Austin, which will host Winona Thursday at 7 p.m. The Winhawks (7-1 overall, 4-0 Big Nine) ended Austin’s season in a shootout last season.
“That’ll be a big one and we’re hoping we can draw a big crowd for it,” Austin head coach Levisen said.
