Curtis Lee

Curtis A. Lee, age 83, formerly of Austin, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wis. surrounded by his family.
Curt was born on Jan. 15, 1926 to the late Helmer J. and Olga C. (Amundson) Lee in Woodville, Wis. He proudly served our country during World War II in the U. S. Army Air Corps. After being honorably discharged, he attended and graduated from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1950 with a bachelor of science degree in science and math and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1958 with a master’s degree. On Aug. 10, 1946, Curt married the love of his life, Eva Jean Simonson, in Baldwin, Wis.
During his life Curt worked as a teacher and retired after 33 years of service from Austin High School in Austin. He was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Club. Curt enjoyed golfing, hunting, nature, and being with his family, especially spending quality time with his granddaughter, Elizabeth. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean; son, Tracy, and his wife, Sheila, of Lakewood, Colo.; granddaughter, Elizabeth; sister, Arlene Posey, Ladysmith, Wis.; brother, Rollie, Baldwin, Wis.; nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harvey and Robert “Hub.”
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 17, 2009 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4611 Commerce Valley Rd., Eau Claire, Wis. (715) 830 5470. Interment will be at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to email@evergreenfuneralhome.com.
