Ralph Evens Grant, 92, of Brownsdale, Minn., died on July 5, 2009, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Ralph Evens Grant was born on April 25, 1917, the son of Raymond and Clara (Evens) Grant in Brownsdale. He attended Brownsdale Country School. Ralph was united in marriage to Eldora Gerard at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City, Iowa on Aug. 28, 1937. He was employed and operated many businesses, which included the Roller Rink in the old Masonic Lodge building, Grant Construction, G & G Window Company, and he was a sales person for Countryside Farm Supply. He retired in the early 1980’s. Ralph was a member of the Lions Club, Business Men of Brownsdale and the Brownsdale Fire Department. Ralph enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, camping with family and friends and restoring old cars.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Eldora Grant, Brownsdale; Janice (Darrel) Harvey, Brownsdale; Dennis Grant, Chaska, Minn.; James (Nancy) Grant, Renville, Minn.; Wesley Grant, Holmen, Wis.; sister-in-law, Eunice Doocy, Blooming Prairie, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters-in-law and one great-grandchild.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brownsdale with the Reverend Jeffrey Sage officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Brownsdale. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Brownsdale and one hour before the service on Friday.
