A woman told police that she was mauled by a stray pitbull early Sunday on her way home from an east side Austin bar.

Priscillia Benitez-Estrada, 26, was in the 800 block of Fourth Avenue. NE when the dog attacked her at around 1:30 a.m.

Benitez-Estrada told police that the pitbull bit at her legs and arms, while also knocking her to the ground. Benitez-Estrada said she covered her head and kicked at the dog until it ran off.

Benitez-Estrada went to the Austin Medical Center later in the day for scratches and lacerations to her arms, legs and hands.

Police were unable to locate the dog.
