The Riverland womens basketball team used a 20-7 run in the second half to force overtime, but it wasn’t enough against Minneapolis in Austin Saturday.

Minneapolis won 78-70 in OT.

“That’s always disappointing (to lose in overtime), especially because Minneapolis is at the top of our conference right now with Anoka,” said Suzy Hebrink, Riverland head coach. “Overall, our team did well, the only thing that didn’t go our way was the outcome of the game.”

The Blue Devils (8-9 overall) were led by Brooke Rosenstiel’s 24 points.

Riverland next plays a 6 p.m. home contest against Rochester Wednesday.
