Marjorie A. Ricke, 70, of Grand Meadow, Minn., died Sunday, Aug 10, 2008 at her home.
Marjorie Hanson was born on May 5, 1938 in Fillmore County, Minn., to Herman and Mary (McRae) Hanson. She attended and graduated from Rochester VoTech College. On May 5, 1973 Marge was united in marriage to Richard Ricke in Adams, Minn.
Marge lived 12 wonderful years after she was a heart transplant recipient in 1996 and she also received a kidney in 2001 from her sister. She was a member on the United Church of Grand Meadow and of the Red Hat Society. She was known as “Grandma Marge” to everyone.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, Grand Meadow; five children; Susie (Bruce) Morse, LeRoy, Minn., Dawn (Dominic) Stier, Grand Meadow, Tom (Deb) Gardner, Grand Meadow, Steve (Molly) Gardner, Willmar and Scott (Allyson) Gardner, Maple Grove; five step-children; Mike Ricke, Albert Lea, Cindy (Gary) Ziegler of Lyle, Larry (Cindy) Ricke, Denny Ricke, and Sue Adams all of Austin; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren; five siblings, Cecil Hanson, Herman (Sonny) Hanson both of LeRoy, Marion Griffin, Mary Fergusen both of Chatfield, and Lois Krueger of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Alice and Agnes, and two brothers, Bob and Luck.
Funeral services for Marjorie Ann Ricke will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008 at the United Church of Grand Meadow with the Reverend Karen Ashton officiating. Burial will be in the St. Finbarr Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the United Church of Grand Meadow and one prior to the service. Memorials preferred to donor’s choice, in lieu of flowers. Hindt Funeral Home-Grand Meadow is in charge of arrangements.
