Up to eight people could be charged with drug possession Thursday in Mower County court following a Wednesday house search in Brownsdale that turned up methamphetamine.
Overall, 10 people, including a juvenile female, were arrested when authorities searched 507 East Main St. at around 6:05 a.m.
Two individuals, 24-year-old Brand Ingalls and 25-year-old Kyle David Magyar, were already wanted on warrants.
Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi said authorities had been monitoring the house for a number of months.
She said when officers from her department and the Southeast Minnesota Drug Taskforce entered the home, some of the residents were sleeping while others were awake. One man, 33, tried to jump out of a window but was eventually arrested.
The sheriff said no one else put up much resistance to arrest.
Officers found 11 grams of meth during the raid — not an overly large amount, Amazi said — as well as $880 cash.
However, the sheriff said the 10-person bust was relatively large for the department.
The 10, who range in age from 17 to 39, are being held in Mower County custody currently, though they will likely need to be shipped elsewhere for any type of long-term lockup.
The 17-year-old female arrested was sent to a juvenile detention center.
Amazi said there were signs they were all using and selling meth, but there were no signs the drug was being manufactured in the home.
The sheriff added that her department would continue to investigate.
