Phyllis Johnson

Phyllis Johnson, 82, died on May 31, 2008, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.
Phyllis was born July 7, 1925, in Hayfield, Minn., the daughter of Severt and Clara (Hegna) Fosse. She graduated from Hayfield High School. She was united in marriage to Maurice Johnson on June 15, 1946, at Evanger Lutheran Church in rural Sargeant, Minn. Maurice and Phyllis lived in Rochester, Minn., for 51 years, where she worked as a clerk at Woolworths. The couple returned to Hayfield in 2002. Phyllis was a member of Evanger Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Phyllis enjoyed baking, cooking, playing cards, casino’s and entertaining her family and friends.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Maurice, Hayfield; son, DeBlonde (Mary) Johnson, Deerwood, Minn.; one daughter, Lisa (Bill) Burt, Rochester; four grandchildren, Thad Johnson, Neil Johnson, Alec Burt, and Emily Burt; three great-grandchildren, Rachel Johnson, Cade Johnson, and Luke Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and and one sister.
Visitation will be from 5–8 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield, and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.The funeral service for will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Evanger Lutheran Church in rural Sargeant with Reverend James Peterson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
