Austin’s Dave Thomsen won three gold medals and one silver medal for bike racing at the Senior Games in Alexandria, Minnesota Thursday and Wednesday.

Thomsen competed in the 70-75 age division as he took gold in the 5-kilometer time trail, the 10-kilometer time trial and the 20-kilometer road race. He won silver in the 40-kilometer road race.

While Thomsen’s times qualified him for nationals, he has no interest in competing it and may be done riding competitively soon.

“I’m going to pay more attention to riding with my wife,” he said. “I’m going to hang up my obsession.”

Thomsen has been racing for 30 years.

Thomsen’s brother-in-law Dale Blakestead of St. Ansgar won the all of his events in the 55-59 age division at Alexandria.
