Spruce Up Austin (SUA) is looking for donations for a new landscaping project.

The group, along with Berg’s Nursery, Austin Parks and Recreation and area residents plan to place four new planters at 12th Street Northwest near the Burr Oak Apartments, pending support from area residents.

If SUA finds that enough area residents to support the project, Austin Parks and Recreation will provide the planters and two will be placed at each end of the median. They would be filled with grasses, Barberry and Carpet Juniper.

Residents are being asked to donate a contribution toward the project. Some donations have already been collected following a letter that was recently distributed to the area residents. Donations will be accepted through Aug. 1.
