A number of renovations to Riverside Arena — being done before the Austin Bruins hockey team takes the ice this fall — were officially approved by City Council Monday.
The roughly $70,000 in work will go toward renovating locker room space and was previously agreed upon by the city as part of a deal to get the team into the arena.
City engineer Jon Erichson said the work would begin “immediately” and will wrap up before the Bruins first take to their home ice in September.
