An Austin man is wanted on a warrant after allegedly stabbing someone downtown over the weekend — the second time this month the man has been accused of a stabbing.

Ghavin Darrell Marryshaw, 24, was charged with two counts of felony assault Thursday in Mower County court but he remains at-large.

The charges come exactly a week after Marryshaw was charged with felony assault in another alleged stabbing that also happened downtown on the Fourth of July.

In the more recent incident, which occurred Sunday, Marryshaw allegedly slashed Andrew Lee Davis, 27, of Austin, on both arms and stabbed him in the upper chest.

Davis was reportedly in “good” condition at a Rochester hospital earlier this week, a spokeswoman said.

According to a criminal complaint, several witnesses saw Marryshaw and Davis arguing outside Mickey’s Bar on Second Avenue Northeast at around 1 a.m. Marryshaw then allegedly began flailing at Davis, before dropping a knife and fleeing the scene.

On July 4, a similar scene reportedly unfolded in the Plaza Lot. A 19-year-old male told police he was outside with a group of people after bar close when another group walked up and started harassing them. An argument ensued, and the two groups began pushing and shoving, a criminal complaint states. The 19-year-old said he was in the middle of this when he felt a sharp prick in his left lower back, and then again on his left wrist.

He told police that a black male in his 20s with braided hair, a dark cap, a white T-shirt and blue jeans fled from the scene right after the incident and before police arrived.

After further investigation, police determined that the suspect was Marryshaw. Provided a photo lineup with Marryshaw in it, the alleged victim positively identified his assailant, the complaint states.
