An Austin man who was stabbed over the weekend has been identified by police, and he is in “good” condition at a Rochester hospital.

Andrew Lee Davis, 27, was allegedly attacked on Sunday at around 1 a.m. in front of Mickey’s Bar on Second Avenue Northeast. Davis suffered cuts to both arms, as well as a puncture wound to his upper chest. He was taken to St. Marys Hospital.

Police responded to the incident, but had to push through a crowd of 25 to 30 people gathered in front of the bar to get to Davis, according to a police report. They found him laying on the ground, with a large chef’s knife broken into two pieces beside him.

No arrests have been made, but police said they have a strong suspect and are investigating.

For the downtown area, it marks the second time in as many weeks that police are investigating a reported stabbing. On July 4, Ghavin Darrell Marryshaw, 24, allegedly stabbed a 19-year-old male in the Plaza Lot, according to a criminal complaint.

Marryshaw faces one count of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, which is a felony, and is wanted on a Mower County warrant.
