A LeRoy man was charged with indecent exposure for allegedly coming to a woman’s door naked and then running away Tuesday night in 8-degree weather.
Michael Manley Miles, 26, is scheduled to appear in court Thursday on a single misdemeanor count.
Mower County deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Sargeant Street at around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday and spoke with the 29-year-old woman, who was visibly shaken by the incident, according to a criminal complaint.
According to the complaint, the man rang her door bell twice. The woman answered the second time and asked the naked man what he wanted. Miles allegedly responded by saying, “You wanted me to come over, right?”
When the woman said “no,” Miles ran off, the complaint states.
Deputies were able to track footprints to a nearby home, where they confronted Miles, who was still trying to get dressed, the complaint states.
The man appeared to be under the influence of drugs when questioned. He later told authorities that he “shot up a half gram of (methamphetamine)” at around 10 p.m.
The man told the deputies that he went to the woman’s house, was asked to leave, and did.
According to the complaint, the two know each other simply as neighbors. The woman said she had only moved into the house in September and doesn’t know Miles well. She also said she was “freaked out” by the incident.
