SPRING GROVE — The Grand Meadow Super Larks volleyball team took a shot on the arm in their 2010 debut, falling to Spring Grove Thursday night 3-0.
The Super Larks lost by game scores of 17-25, 11-25, and 14-25.
“The girls definitely looked inexperienced,” coach Michael Keefe said, referring to a squad that is in a rebuilding mode this year. “But they played pretty confidently. In the first games your going to have those errors, but it’s about how you bounce back.”
Autumn Thorsen led the Super Larks attack with four kills, three serve aces and six set-assists.
Stephanie Russell had three kills and four set-assists and Camille O’Connell had three kills.
“We’re a young team, but they’re learning quick,” Keefe said. “The girls are working hard to get to that level we want to see.”
Grand Meadow will host Houston Tuesday night.
