The weather may be cooling down, but the United Way’s campaign is heating up.
United Way Executive Director Mandi Lighthizer-Schmidt and UWMC partners raised the thermometer Wednesday afternoon that shows the foundation’s progress for its annual campaign.
Lighthizer-Schmidt reported this year’s progress is 42 percent of the $1.1 million goal. The campaign started Sept. 8 and will end April 2012. As of Oct. 26, the community has raised exactly $462,975.28. That’s $39,257 more than last year during the same time, as this year’s campaign has a bigger goal.
