The Awesome Blossoms football team meant business in a 48-0 win at Randolph (0-2 overall) Friday night.

Blooming Prairie put up 34 points in the first quarter and its starters were out of the game by the half-way mark of the second quarter.

The Blossoms (1-1 overall) had four players rush for over 45 yards just a week after it ran for just 15 yards as a team in a loss to New Richland H/E/G.

“We weren’t very happy with our play last week,” BP head coach Chad Gimbel said. “Tonight we focused on playing hard every play and I give our offensive line a lot of credit. They played superb.”

Luc Zellmer did a lot for the Blossoms in limited playing time as he threw for 101 yards and two scores and ran for 69 yards and two more scores. Zellmer also picked off a pass on defense and Anthony Kartes also had an interception for BP, which forced three turnovers in the first half.

Gabe Kartes returned to the lineup for BP after missing last week’s game. He opened it with an 86-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and he also hauled in a 38 yard scoring strike from Zellmer.
