Austin School District officials held a private legal council meeting Wednesday morning to discuss a lawsuit against the district from on-leave Austin Police Capt. and school board member Curt Rude.

The district officials met in a private strategy session to discuss proceedings. The meeting was closed under attorney-client privilege. Rude did not return calls for this story, and a school staff member said Rude was not at today’s meeting.

Rude was found guilty Nov. 5 of felony drug possession and gross misdemeanor interfering with property in official custody. He was found not guilty on one count of felony theft.

Rude was elected to the school board in 2007.
