A 20-year-old Austin woman was sentenced to one year of probation Wednesday for smashing a teenager’s car with a baseball bat in a McDonald’s parking lot.
Tara Clarice Meyer will also have to pay restitution for the incident, which occurred last Tuesday.
According to a police report, Meyer was mad at a 16-year-old male for nearly hitting her car in the Riverside Arena parking lot around 6 p.m. that day.
A separate witness said the teenager also drove in front of Meyer and slammed his brakes several times while on the road.
She followed him to the McDonald’s on Oakland Avenue. Meyer then approached his car with a baseball bat, hitting the trunk and driver’s side windows with the teenager inside.
The report does not specify how much damage was done to the vehicle.
The teenager was issued a citation for reckless driving.
