The Austin boys took 12th out of 22 teams and the girls finished seventh out of 18 teams at the Rochester Mayo cross country invite Thursday.

Haley Splinter took second for the Packer girls, while Madison Overby was 13th and McKenzie Besel was 18th.

“Haley continues to improve, running her best race of the season in a very strong field of runners,” Austin head coach Tony Einertson said. “She got out under control again today and was able to move through the field after the first mile. Having three girls in the top 20 at this meet is a big accomplishment for the girls and the team.”
