SHOREVIEW — Sheriff’s officials in Minnesota say the vehicle of a missing Shoreview man who told his wife he’d been kidnapped has turned up in Chicago.
Ramsey County sheriff’s spokeswoman Holli Drinkwine says police found the van belonging to Matthew Anderson in downtown Chicago Sunday. There was no sign of Anderson.
Anderson was last seen Friday afternoon at his workplace, Rosewood Village Apartments in Roseville. According to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Anderson called his wife around 7 p.m. saying he’d been kidnapped by two men. He said he believed he was somewhere in Iowa. KSTP-TV reports authorities traced Anderson’s cell phone to Wisconsin Dells, Wis.
A nationwide missing-person alert was issued Saturday.
