A 71-year-old Austin woman was treated and released from the hospital after her car crashed into a bridge pier near Hormel Foods Sunday.
According to a police report, Barbara Adams was driving on Sixth Street Northeast near Interstate 90 at around 10:30 a.m. when her car went over the curb and struck a pier supporting the highway.
Fire and police workers had to remove Adams from the vehicle, and she was transported to the Austin Medical Center.
An AMC spokeswoman said Monday that Adams was treated and released but did not know the extent of her injuries.
Adams told police that she was reaching for something rolling on her dashboard when she lost control of the vehicle, the report states.
She tried to steady the car but it went off the road and traveled roughly 50 feet into the support column.
The report did not indicate how badly damaged her vehicle was.
