ZUMBRO FALLS — Gov. Tim Pawlenty is returning to southern Minnesota cities affected by recent flooding.
The governor will be in Zumbro Falls at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, then he’ll head to Owatonna at 10 a.m.
Pawlenty plans to meet with local officials in both cities and discuss recovery efforts.
Pawlenty and top lawmakers have agreed to an early October special session to approve a flood relief package for southeastern Minnesota.
Meanwhile, clean up has begun in the hardest-hit cities of Zumbro Falls and Hammond, and volunteers are still needed to help with cleanup in Olmsted County and in the communities of Oronoco and Pine Island. Wabasha County has also set up a volunteer hot line.
