According to a criminal complaint, officers were dispatched Sunday morning to 816 Ninth Ave. SW regarding a man who had been lying in the road and then slumped over a backyard fence.

When police arrived, a witness said the man had entered a residence at 901 Eighth Ave. SW minutes earlier.

Officers approached the house and saw Pacheco-Vasquez being kicked out by the 65-year-old male homeowner.

He said Pacheco-Vasquez had pounded on his door and that his granddaughter had let him in.

Pacheco-Vasquez was extremely intoxicated, the complaint states, and told officers that he was “Benito Lopez.”

However, he also had three forms of Mexican identification on him in his given name.

Officers checked the Minnesota Driver and Vehicle Services database and saw that the defendant is registered as “Benito Garcia Lopez Jr.”

Pacheco-Vasquez is in Mower County custody on $50,000 bail, or $10,000 if he meets certain court conditions.
