City Council will meet Monday evening at 5:30 p.m. to authorize the Mayor to sign the $5 million flood mitigation award.
The council will also be discussion regular business and voting on whether or not to grant the Planning and Zoning Department the power to contract for the removal of illegally stored vehicles and other items at five different locations throughout town.
After the council meeting, members will meet to discuss the possible extension of a $60,000 loan given to the Eagles Club in 2006 and to review a hazard mitigation plan for Mower County.
The extension of the Eagles Club loan would result in suspending payments from the present time through Dec. 2011. The number of months in the suspension period would then be added to the end of the loan term.
The purpose of the extension proposal is to aid the Eagles in paying off delinquent taxes by the end of the year.
