The Riverland volleyball team played well in one out of three games, but it wasn’t enough as the Blue Devils lost to Rochester Community and Technical College (21-5, 7-2 MCAC South) 25-12, 25-23, 25-14 in Rochester Wednesday.

The Blue Devils (5-15 overall, 1-9 MCAC South) led the second game 23-22, but made a couple of errors to drop it, and they led game three 4-2 early before falling back.

“We really came out flat in the first game and nothing was happening on offense,” RCC head coach Helen Jahr said. “We wiped the slate clean in game two but couldn’t finish.”

Mercedes Miklya had 10 digs to lead RCC.

“Cedes did a good job against a hard hitting Rochester team,” Jahr said.
